WINDIE LAZENKO

Windie Lazenko is an active member of the National Survivor Network and an expert trainer, speaker and service provider to those who have experienced exploitation and trafficking worldwide.

She has 10 years experience working with collaborative partners such as Law Enforcement, Government Officials and various Service Providers.

Her focus the last 5 years had been in the Bakken Oil Fields. She is highly regarded in Outreach and crisis care using her own personal experiences of surviving victimization to give insight into the complex dynamics unique to communities such as Oil Impact areas, Bike Rallies, Strip Clubs and Brothels.

She was only 13 when she was recruited into the life of exploitation. She made her way out when there was little, if any of what victims endure and the difficulties they face when seeking healing.

She has dedicated her life to offering Hope Empowerment and Restoration to those still suffering and the communities effected by the sex trade. She takes on corrupt environments ruled by organized crime that profits off the sale of human beings.

She finds peace and joy in allowing God to take those things that were meant to destroy her and use them for good. She enters back into the darkness to be a light that speaks truth in order to set the captives free.

Her work has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, NPR, National Geographic and recently she completed a film with RTD channel. An upcoming project with Time Magazine shows the boldness and dedication she has to be to others what she desperately needed. A way out.

She has been awarded several honors including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and YWCA’s Woman of Distinction 2015 for her success in fighting what is commonly described as Modern Day Slavery.
